Publisher Dotemu and developer Homo Ludens have announced Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, a new management simulation set in the iconic fantasy world of Dungeons & Dragons. The game is scheduled to launch on PC in 2027.

Instead of fighting monsters or hunting down legendary treasures, players will take on a very different role: an innkeeper. Set in the Dalelands of Faerûn, Long Rest Tavern lets players build and manage a cozy roadside inn where adventurers can relax, eat, drink, and prepare for their next dangerous quest.

Players will grow their tavern from a humble rest stop into a popular destination for heroes. Managing the business will involve serving a wide variety of patrons, keeping supplies stocked, earning money, and expanding the establishment with new decorations, upgrades, and facilities.

The tavern will also play an important role in sending adventurers on quests. Players can assign challenges based on the strengths and composition of each party, with their choices potentially influencing how those adventures unfold.

Food and drinks are another major part of the experience. Players can cook, brew beverages, experiment with unusual ingredients, and unlock new recipes designed to satisfy adventurers from different species and classes. Customization will allow players to create a tavern that feels uniquely theirs, from its layout and décor to special artifacts and mementos.

Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern promises to offer a fun twist on the fantasy formula, letting players support heroes rather than becoming one. It could be a cozy change of pace for D&D fans when it arrives in 2027.
