If you’ve bought a ticket to A24’s Primetime, you’ll see Chris Hansen twice: first as the real thing and then as a character played by Robert Pattinson. THR reports that Hansen has purchased ads to run before every showing of Primetime, a film about the most notorious case on his series To Catch a Predator. In the ad, Hansen reportedly speaks directly to the audience and tells them to visit TruBlu, his streaming service featuring true-crime shows about scams and creeps. “I’m going to need everyone in the theater to take a seat right over there,” he says. “Now there are more platforms than ever before where this disturbing crime is being committed. Join us undercover every day on my streaming network, TruBlu.”

The former Dateline journalist hasn’t been able to see the movie, not that he hasn’t tried. He scheduled a private screening but didn’t watch the film because A24 asked him to sign an NDA. “I couldn’t sign that. So they didn’t show me the film. I went all the way over there. You and I are going to have to go to the theater and see it together when it comes out, I guess,” Hansen told Jesse Watters on Fox News. “But who’s going to sign something like that? I wouldn’t sign it just to see it.” He tried his hand at writing a movie about his To Catch a Predator days and saw himself more as a Denis Leary type than as someone portrayed by Pattinson. Makes sense: He’s probably not a fan of a 125-year-old vampire dating a 17-year-old.
