An investigation is underway after a body was discovered next to railroad tracks in San Bernardino County.
On Aug. 25, deputies were called to reports of a body found in the Cajon Pass area near Baldy Mesa Road/3N21 and State Route 138 at around 11:13 a.m., Victor Valley News Group reported.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the body was found next to the train tracks and no other suspects or vehicles were spotted nearby.
The body had also reportedly been left in the area for some time, the outlet reported.
No details on the person's identity or the circumstances leading up to their death were released.
The investigation follows a similar case in which the body of a 23-year-old man was discovered near train tracks in Hesperia on July 16.
The man was found with a gunshot wound and investigators determined the death was a homicide.
Authorities have not released information on whether the two deaths may be connected.
