Vernon Kay is being supported by ex Tess Daly after moving out of the family home they once shared.

The couple stunned fans after announcing earlier this year that they were separating after 23 years of marriage, stating that they were to remain friends.

The couple, who share daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 17, are now reportedly living apart after Vernon, 52, purchased a £3,000,000 home not far from the family property.

According to reports, the TV presenter is keen to stay close to the former Strictly host, 57, and their children.

A source told the Sun: ‘Vernon has now bought a place close to the family home in Buckinghamshire.

‘It means he can stay close to their girls, which is something important to both him and Tess. He’s having renovations done and will move out when the house is ready. Tess is supporting him with the move.

‘It’s going to be very strange for them after living together for over two decades, so they’re both treating the situation with care and respect.’

The pair regularly gave fans a glimpse inside their family home, which included a gym and huge conservatory. It was also home to Tess’ Shetland ponies, Honey and Willow.

Vernon’s new property, which is under renovation, is said to include a swimming pool and sprawling garden.

The TV golden couple met back in 2001 when they were working on rival channels; Vernon was hosting Channel 4’s T4 while Tess presented SMTV on ITV.

Vernon then proposed on Christmas Day in 2002 at Tess’ parents’ home, and they tied the knot the following year at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Horwich, near Bolton.

In 2004, they welcomed their first daughter, Phoebe, and a second, Amber, in 2009.

The stars took to social media with a joint statement earlier this year, writing: ‘After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.

‘This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us.

‘We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.’
