Will a $2 Powerball ticket make you a millionaire? As they say in the lottery business, "it could happen to you."

In addition, Florida's enjoying a bit of a lottery hot streak (see below).

After the epic $1.04 billion win Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, with a winner from the Land of Lincoln, the Powerball reset to $20 million for Saturday, Aug. 15. Three rollovers since, including the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the jackpot has climbed to $68 million for Saturday, Aug. 22. The Powerball jackpot has a cash option of $29.5 million. Check back after 11 p.m. ET for Saturday's winning Powerball numbers. We'll see if there's a winner or another rollover.

In case you're wondering, Wednesday, Aug. 19, winning lottery numbers were 10-21-58-61-64 and the Powerball was 17. Power Play was 2x. There were no second-tier wins with that draw.

Earlier this week, however, Florida notched yet another lottery win: Monday, Aug. 17, winning Powerball numbers were 8-15-25-49-65 and the Powerball was 22. Power Play was 4x. Though those numbers produced another rollover, a ticket purchased here matched 5 for a $1 million prize.

Soon after the 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, Powerball drawing for $1 billion, lottery officials noted online that a winner in Illinois matched all the numbers. On Thursday, Aug. 13, the Illinois Lottery revealed the winning ticket was purchased in Quincy, Illinois, and that final ticket sales had pushed the total to a whopping $1.04 billion.

The estimated cash option for the Wednesday, Aug. 12, pot was $450.5 million, according to Powerball online. Wednesday's winning numbers were 4-26-66-67-69 and the Powerball was 9. Power Play was 2x.

The Wednesday, Aug. 19, $1.04 billion Powerball prize remains unclaimed, according to a check on Powerball and Illinois Lottery online. Though someone in Illinois nabbed the golden ticket, several other states had second-tier prizes in that big Powerball jackpot drawing. A Florida ticket was one of four, joining those bought in Arizona, California and North Carolina, that matched 5 for $1 million prizes. A bigger win went to a Massachusetts ticket which matched 5 plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.

The $1 million Florida winner in the Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, Powerball drawing for $1.04 billion bought their ticket from Racetrac, 2335 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, Florida. The ticketholder claimed the cash option for their quick pick ticket days later, Florida Lottery records show, and lives in Cape Coral, Florida.

The winner of the Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, Powerball drawing purchased the ticket in Quincy, Illinois, lottery officials said. Quincy is in western Illinois and is about 135 miles north of St. Louis, Missouri, and 300 miles southwest of Chicago, Illinois.

Florida also saw a winner on Saturday, Aug. 8, with winning Powerball numbers of 5-9-35-54-63 and the Powerball was 7. Power Play was 3x. A Florida ticket and three others purchased in Arizona, Michigan and New York, matched 5 for a $1 million prize. Even luckier was a ticket bought in Texas that matched 5 plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.

The Florida Lottery site states Circle K, 1026 Walt Williams Road, Lakeland, Florida, sold the second-tier Powerball ticket worth $1 million in the Saturday, Aug. 8, drawing. The Lakeland, Florida, ticket-holder claimed a one-time lump sum cash prize as of Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, a few days after that Powerball draw.
