Before she married Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was once a rising actress with a pretty solid résumé. Most famously, she starred on the hit show Suits (which re-became a hit when it got added to Netflix in 2023). But that all ended when she became a duchess, then an aspiring lifestyle guru … until now? The Duchess of Sussex reportedly has an acting job lined up, per a Times report by Tina Brown, which is the reason for the family’s much-reported-on return to the U.K. Apparently, the two were unhappy in California, and Harry had instructed staff not to tell his wife about any negative press. “But then,” an ex-staffer told Brown, “a friend or somebody in the kitchen will be like, ‘Oh, ma’am, I’m so sorry today. That’s so mean,’ and she’s like, ‘What happened?’ And then it’s a fucking tornado … She can’t get out of bed.” But you know what gets someone out of bed? The need to get to work.
Though that report did not say what job Markle is taking, exactly, Deadline reported that she is in very early talks to join Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen for season three. Technically, the Theo James–starring show has not yet been renewed for a third season, but you’d see how Big Red might make up its mind a little faster if Markle signs on. Maybe she’d even get to wear a suit again.
