Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris's camp has shared an update amid his health ordeal.
It was revealed in a Facebook post on Thursday that the 58-year-old musician will need to undergo 'two major surgeries' following a 'cardiac incident' earlier this month.
A lengthy statement from the Standing for John Paris page outlined that Paris woke up from a medically induced coma for a second time, and his 'blood pressure remained stable,' which allowed 'doctors to continue evaluating his condition.'
It was noted that, 'John will remain in the ICU longer than everyone had hoped while his medical team carefully prepares him for the next phase of his treatment.'
There was also a statement from the drummer's wife Kathy, who has been supporting him along with their daughter Kyla.
She said: 'This journey is definitely a marathon, but JP is fighting every single day and our hope is strong. Please keep the prayers, love, and light coming for John, Kathy, Kyla, and the entire family.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Paris for comment but has yet to hear back.
