The Raiders are pulling out all the stops to try and keep star back rower Hudson Young in the nation’s capital, tabling an offer worth $1.1 million a season.

It’s said to be the richest ever offer the Raiders have made.
With the Chiefs and their tax-free contracts a very real threat of luring Young out of Canberra, the Raiders are desperate to not let that happen.
Young is under contract until the end of next season, meaning he’s free to negotiate with rivals from November 1.
However, according to CODE Sports, if Young is hellbent on heading to PNG, the Raiders are set to give him a week window to come to an agreement with the Chiefs.
It’s the same scenario Panthers winger Brian To’o found himself in recently. To’o used the window to negotiate a three-year deal with PNG from 2028.
Raiders CEO Don Furner says the club have done everything in their power to retain the star forward but concedes the Chiefs are a danger.
“He is a very, very important part of our club and he’s a future leader,” Furner told CODE Sports.
“I am confident he won’t go to another existing NRL club.”
