Officers with the Essex County OPP investigated a complaint of a possible impaired driver Aug. 19 around 8:30 p.m. The vehicle arrived at the Kingsville docks on the ferry Pelee Islander Two.

A 61-year-old Kingsville man has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.

The second driver was charged following a traffic stop in Tecumseh Aug. 20 at 8 a.m.

Police said they stopped a vehicle moving at an excessive rate of speed on Highway 3 near Sexton Sideroad.

A 36-year-old Essex man was charged with impaired driving, as well as stunt driving.

Both drivers received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.

They also must appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to answer to the charges.
