On Thursday, a man shot his wife and his sister in public in Gomtinagar, a posh area of Lucknow, the capital of UP. Due to which both of them died. After shooting both of them, the accused also shot himself. Due to which his condition remains critical. This firing created panic in the entire area. The police have started investigating the entire matter.
One of the deceased has been identified as Divya Mishra, who was a relationship manager in ICICI Bank. Divya is said to be the wife of the accused. While the second woman has been identified as Seema Vajpayee. She was the sister of accused Manas. The incident took place just outside the bank, causing panic in the area.
According to initial information, both the women were fired upon in rapid succession, after which they got seriously injured and fell on the road. Later both of them died.
As soon as the sound of firing was heard, there was chaos among the people present nearby. After being shot, Divya and the other woman fell on the ground drenched in blood, while the accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Gomtinagar police station reached the spot. After this, the police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. After the incident, the police have started collecting evidence related to the spot and the reasons for the murder are being investigated.
In the initial investigation of the police, the ongoing family dispute between the husband and wife is being considered as the main reason for the murder. However, police officials say that the complete picture of the case will become clear only after investigation.
Currently, police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras. Using this footage, they are trying to establish the accused’s arrival outside the bank and the circumstances of the incident.
Police are also investigating who was present at the scene at the time of the incident and whether anyone witnessed the incident. Following the murder, security and police patrols have been increased in the Gomti Nagar area.
