The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed the defensive tackle to a one-year, $30 million extension on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

The deal comes just weeks after Vea reportedly requested a trade from the team due to failed extension talks.

But now Vea has his deal, which will keep him with Tampa for the next two seasons. He will make $18 million this season.

Vea, 31, has played eight seasons with the Bucs since the team selected him 12th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The six-foot-four, 347-pound tackle has been named to two Pro Bowls and helped the Buccaneers win a Super Bowl in 2020.

Vea started all 17 regular-season games for the Buccaneers last season, recording 34 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

The Buccaneers finished 8-9 in 2025 and failed to make the playoffs for the first time in five seasons.
