Srinagar- An elderly woman died after being hit by a car near the Bypass in Sopore area of north Kashmir on Wednesday.
An official said that the accident occurred when an Alto car, travelling from Sopore towards Bandipora, hit a pedestrian near Sofi Akber Road, Bypass, in Sopore.
He said the woman was immediately shifted to District Hospital Sopore for treatment; however, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, reported news agency KNO.
She was identified as Azi Begum (70), a resident of Ningli. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings.
