Srinagar, Aug 19: Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir recorded significant rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Jammu receiving the highest rainfall of 88.7 mm, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar.
Samba recorded 85 mm of rainfall, followed by Kathua with 76.6 mm, Katra with 48 mm and Udhampur with 32.2 mm.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally hot and humid weather across Jammu and Kashmir from August 19 to 22, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at scattered to many places.
Brief intense heavy showers are also likely at a few places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The Meteorological Centre has cautioned that brief intense heavy showers over localised areas could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
The department has advised people to remain cautious during intense showers and follow local advisories. Farmers, meanwhile, have been advised that they may continue harvesting and other agricultural operations.
The India Meteorological Department's latest warning bulletin has also indicated heavy rain potential in Jammu and Kashmir on August 19-21, with thunderstorm and lightning activity expected during the period.
