Nagpur: In view of the expected surge in passenger traffic during Ganeshotsav, the railways have announced special train services connecting Madgaon and Nagpur, providing additional travel options for passengers travelling between Goa, Konkan and Vidarbha.
The special services have been planned during the August-September festival period, when passenger demand typically increases significantly due to Ganeshotsav and the movement of people between Maharashtra’s Konkan region and other parts of the state.
Madgaon-Nagpur Special Train
According to the railway schedule cited in the report, Train No. 01140 Madgaon-Nagpur Special will operate from Madgaon to Nagpur.
The train will depart Madgaon at 6 pm on Tuesday and reach Nagpur at 8:25 pm the following day.
The additional service is expected to benefit passengers travelling from Goa and the Konkan region towards Nagpur and Vidarbha, particularly during the busy Ganeshotsav period.
Additional Services for Festival Rush
Railway authorities have also planned special services on the Madgaon–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) route to handle the increased passenger demand during the festival season and weekends.
The introduction of these special trains is aimed at providing additional capacity and reducing pressure on regular services during one of the busiest travel periods in Maharashtra.
Relief for Passengers Travelling to Nagpur
Ganeshotsav sees a large number of people travelling to and from the Konkan region. The additional Madgaon–Nagpur train service is therefore expected to provide a useful option for passengers heading towards Nagpur and other parts of Vidarbha.
