Yamaha has given its 125cc scooter family a small refresh. Fresh colours and graphics join one useful technology update. The RayZR Street Rally gets a colour TFT screen with navigation and phone functions. The Fascino S also gets its own colour update, keeping the range fresh for city scooter buyers.
The RayZR range starts at Rs 79,880 for the drum brake model. The disc version costs Rs 87,680. The Street Rally is offered in two forms, with the LCD version priced at Rs 93,930 and the new TFT version at Rs 1,00,440.
The Street Rally TFT gets a colour display with turn by turn navigation, smartphone connectivity and Answer Back. The LCD version gets the same basic scooter package without the new TFT screen.
The Fascino range has three variants. The drum model costs Rs 78,980, the disc model is Rs 91,070 and the Fascino S is Rs 99,030.
The Fascino S retains its colour TFT display and navigation system. Yamaha has also added new shades to the range. The top S version gets Metallic Orangish Gray, while the drum model is available in Yellow Cocktail. The disc version gets Metallic Light Green, Cool Blue Metallic and Matte Black.
Both scooters use Yamaha’s 125cc air cooled engine. It makes 8bhp and 10.3Nm and works with a CVT gearbox. The scooters also get Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator, which helps with silent starts, stop start operation and power assist.
The RayZR and Fascino are still light scooters aimed at everyday city use. Their simple engines and familiar layouts make them easy to live with.
The entry RayZR drum is Rs 2,150 higher than before, while the disc version has gone up by Rs 1,340. The LCD Street Rally has risen by Rs 2,150. On the Fascino side, the drum costs Rs 1,090 more and the disc is Rs 1,000 higher. The Fascino S is Rs 1,500 more than last year’s listed price, but it is cheaper than the earlier TFT version.
Colour choices also vary by variant, giving buyers more ways to pick the scooter they like.
