DJB Water Supply Update: The Delhi Jal Board will be carrying out repairs and renewals of the 1100 mm diameter valve of the Khyala Main Header on August 20th. Due to this, water supply may be affected in many areas of West Delhi from 10 am to 4 pm. However, water pressure will be low in some areas. The Jal Board has appealed to residents of affected areas to store sufficient water in advance.
According to the Delhi Jal Board, the Khyala Main Header Valve is located in CWPH-1, HP-1. Due to the maintenance and renovation work, water supply will be affected for approximately 6 hours on August 20th. During this time, water will not be available in some areas, while water supply may be at low pressure in others.
According to the Jal Board, water supply will be affected in the command areas of the Narayana Cantt BPS (Booster Pumping Station) and UGR (Underground Reservoir). These include-

Mayapuri
Todapur Village
Narayana Village
Narayana Vihar
Krishi Kunj
Mansarovar Garden
MES Area
Water supply is also likely to be affected in some areas, such as:
Kirti Nagar UGR Command Area
HMP Colony

The Delhi Jal Board has urged residents of affected areas to store sufficient water before the morning of August 20th to avoid any inconvenience during repair work. The Jal Board may also provide tanker services if needed.
According to the Water Board, the repair and renovation of the Khayaala Main Header Valve is being carried out to ensure better and uninterrupted water supply in the future. Therefore, the temporary inconvenience will help strengthen the water distribution system in the long run.
