Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: Women from economically weaker sections will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month under the Delhi government’s Lakshmi Yojana. The government has announced that the first installment of this scheme will be released on Rakshabandhan, August 28th.
According to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, approximately 5.92 lakh women have registered to avail the scheme so far. The Delhi government aims to extend the benefits of this scheme to approximately 1.7 million women. Therefore, women who have applied should check their application status before the first installment is released.
Under this scheme, the government has given beneficiaries two options: ₹1,000 will be deposited in a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet and ₹1,500 in an RD or FD account. In the second option, the entire ₹2,500 will be deposited in an RD or FD account.
Only eligible women will benefit from this scheme. After applying, the government will verify the documents and eligibility. The benefit amount will be released only after verification is complete.
