Nvidia plans to invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy and extend credit support connected to the land, electricity and initial construction requirements. SB Energy will develop and operate the site under a 20-year lease with OpenAI, with the first 800 megawatts targeted for 2028.

The six-year development is expected to generate about 35,000 jobs, followed by roughly 2,500 permanent operating positions. The project also calls for at least 10 gigawatts of additional power generation and $4.2 billion of regional grid investment.

OpenAI will contribute another $40 million to SB Energy's community fund, matching its existing contribution and bringing the total to $80 million.
