Novak Djokovič's wife Jelena Djokovič recently uncovered a different version of the tennis legend on her social media.
Jelena recently shared a sweet carousel featuring pictures of the duo embracing each other and dancing while laughing together.
She candidly expressed in her caption just how much of a sweetheart and romantic the tennis star is behind-the-scenes.
Jelena revealed: "If I were ever to show my perspective of Novak, of the man he is to me, I'd probably have to borrow from the men I've loved in books (because Novak is a very complex character of course."
She went on to compare Novak to some of fiction books' most loyal and passionate partners, adding: "[He's like] Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Edward Cullen from Twilight. Alexander Barrington from The Bronze Horseman. Rowan Whitethorn from Throne of Glass."
Jelena explained that the characters share similar characteristics to her husband, sharing: "Different men, different worlds, different stories…and yet something in each of them reminds me of him. The strength. The complexity. The stubbornness (oh, definitely the stubbornness). The loyalty. The intensity. The way they love."
The mother-of-two gushed: "That's one of the advantages and beauties about knowing someone intimately. The world gets to have its version of him….And I get to have mine. @djokernole."
Fans as well as Novak liked the thoughtful post, and they flocked to the comments to cheer on the pair.
One person wrote: "I really loved reading this. The way you see him, beyond everything the world sees, is so beautiful and genuinely inspiring. May God protect the love you share."
A second follower added: "Power couple. Nole and Jelena always and forever."
A third fan continued: "So beautifully written. We should celebrate love more often." Another person commented: "We believe you have the best version of Novak."
Novak and Jelena have been going strong for over two decades.
Believe it or not, the duo were high school sweethearts – talk about romance. The couple fittingly met at a tennis club in Serbia in the early 2000s.
They maintained a long distance relationship as Jelena went to Italy for university, while Novak practiced day in and day out to achieve his championship dreams.
After Jelena finished her studies, she moved to Monte Carlo with him. In 2013, he proposed there and they tied the knot the following year in Montenegro.
