For the cover of the August 24 & 31, 2026, issue, the artist Diana Ejaita takes us where many of us would like to be at the height of summer: poolside. “I was looking for an image that conveys slower moments, the feeling of being at peace in a long-lived and beloved body,” Ejaita said. “I think of this as the early morning, before the youngsters arrive with their joy and chaos.”
