Skoda Slavia is getting its first major update since the sedan arrived in India in 2022. The company has now shown more details of the facelift before its August 18 launch. The changes are not limited to one part of the car. New lights, a fresh grille, different alloy wheels and a few cabin updates are expected.

The latest teaser gives a better look at the exterior. The front gets a revised grille with more chrome detailing. The headlamps also have new detailing, while the bumper and fog lamp areas have been revised.

At the rear, the LED tail lamps get a new light pattern. The basic shape is familiar, but the lighting signature looks different.

The Slavia keeps its long sedan shape and sharp shoulder line.

The dashboard layout is expected to stay familiar. Skoda may add fresh upholstery and trim finishes to give the cabin a newer feel. The facelift is also expected to bring a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster.

Other equipment could include an updated infotainment system and more features from the Kushaq. Rear seat massage function is one feature that could make its way to the sedan, although Skoda has not confirmed every detail yet.

The existing feature list includes a single pane sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats and wireless phone charging.

The engine range will continue with two turbo petrol options.

The biggest mechanical update is the new 8 speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI. The 1.5 TSI continues with the 7 speed DSG.

The current Slavia costs Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh ex showroom. The facelift is expected to cost more. It will compete with the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus.

The full price, variants and feature list will be announced at the launch on August 18.
