Andhra Pradesh Government will conduct the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment examination for filling up teacher posts every year as promised in the pre-poll manifesto by the NDA, Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resources Development, said.

Speaking in the State Assembly sessions which began in Amaravati on Monday, Lokeh said the NDA Government was `committed’ to the youth and there would be ‘no second thought’ on the decision to conduct recruitment.

He said the government had already filled 3,000 teacher posts through DSC this year under the Mega Job Calendar, he said. Overall, around 10,060 posts had so far been filled through the Mega Job Calendar, covering recruitments through Group-1, Group-2 and DSC, the Minister said. He added that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examinations had also been completed recently.

Rejecting allegations that the recruitment process had been halted, Mr Lokesh said the system was continuing and the government remained committed to providing employment opportunities to the youth.

The government would complete the process of bringing all selected teachers into the system before Ugadi, he said. The newly recruited teachers would be provided training ahead of the next academic year and the government would take responsibility for deploying them in schools, he added, according to a release.
