Christopher Schwarzenegger is looking stronger than ever after transforming his health over the past several years.
The 28-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver made a rare appearance in a new collection of family photos shared by his older sister Katherine Schwarzenegger, and his muscular physique certainly stood out.
In one sun-soaked snap from the family's beach day, Christopher relaxed on a bench beside the ocean wearing a fitted black T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Trend Proof" and a pair of blue swim shorts covered in a bold orange floral print.
With his noticeably muscular arms and legs on display, Christopher looked happy and relaxed as he smiled broadly for the camera while soaking up the sunshine.
Katherine's Instagram carousel offered further glimpses of the Schwarzenegger family's summer together, with the mom-of-three sharing candid moments from their time by the water.
Christopher has largely remained out of the spotlight compared to his famous siblings, but his physical transformation has attracted plenty of attention since he first began appearing noticeably slimmer several years ago.
His famous father has also spoken proudly about the determination behind his son's transformation, revealing that the family deliberately avoided putting pressure on Christopher when he was younger.
Shortly after photographs of Christopher's weight loss made headlines last year, Arnold explained that he and his ex-wife Maria had focused on encouraging healthy habits rather than criticizing their son's appearance.
"I could never go and say to him, 'You're overweight.' We just kept introducing healthy foods," the former Mr. Olympia told The Times.
"We introduced him always to the gym and all of that kind of stuff." Ultimately, however, Arnold said the motivation had to come from Christopher himself. "And then, out of nowhere, he decided that he wanted to be lean. And now he is," Arnold continued. "So that is of course fantastic, the self-discipline and the self-motivation. I always felt one day it will have to come from him, and it did."
The transformation has been years in the making, and Christopher has been candid about the fact that there was no overnight solution.
Christopher opened up about his experience publicly at the inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles last year, describing his weight loss as a "big process."
He revealed that the turning point came while he was living in Australia in 2019. "I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities," he said.
One particular experience stayed with him. Christopher wanted to try skydiving during his Australian adventure, but realized his weight would prevent him from taking part. "It was a big process," he explained of what followed, revealing that his journey involved considerable trial and error.
He later revealed that one seemingly simple dietary change proved surprisingly significant. After deciding to give up bread for Lent, Christopher lost 30 pounds in less than two months.
