The Zam Bazaar police arrested a 23-year-old person from Tripura for smuggling and possessing narcotics from a private lodge in Nanmangalam on Saturday. The arrest follows the arrest of a migrant worker of Assam by the anti-narcotics investigation unit where they seized 29 kg of ganja from a lodge on July 18.
The police team got a tip off that a migrant worker named K. Hiday Hussain of Tripura was involved in smuggling and distributing narcotics in the form of pills by staying in the private lodge located on Medavakkam Main Road in Nanmangalam.
A police team raided the lodge and arrested the accused. They also seized heroin packets and pills. The accused was later produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to prison.
