Yash has addressed the conversation around his intimate scenes with Kiara Advani in Toxic, acknowledging that such moments can naturally make a partner uncomfortable. The actor explained that the scenes were required by the story and were part of his work as a performer. Yash also discussed wife Radhika Pandit’s reaction, saying her own experience as an actor allows her to understand the distinction between a performer and the character being portrayed. Yash also added that he too stepped outside his comfort zone for the film.
During his appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was asked about the intimate scenes in Toxic, particularly the moments featuring him and Kiara Advani in Tabaahi. The actor explained that performing such scenes was also outside his personal comfort zone, but he believed they were necessary for the narrative.
Addressing Radhika Pandit's reaction, he acknowledged that she would not necessarily be comfortable watching such moments involving her husband. "Of course, she (Radhika) won't be happy about it, but that doesn't mean she's upset or anything, because she trusts me," he said. “The important thing is, she's also an actor. She understands it's a job, and when I'm performing, it's an actor doing their part. It's not her husband,” he added.
Yash also admitted that discomfort is a natural reaction when someone sees their partner performing intimate scenes with another actor. "I think every partner would feel uncomfortable about this. I don't want to lie. Every partner feels that way," he said. However, the actor believes that professional understanding and trust are important when actors have to portray situations that may not necessarily be comfortable for them personally.
He further spoke about why filmmakers and actors sometimes choose to portray subjects that may generate strong reactions because they believe in them and even the next generation can learn from it. Yash added, "So some things have to be recorded, and I feel this story is important."
