Warangal’s District Marketing Officer (DMO) K. Surekha, 43, died in a road accident on the Tadwai–Pasra stretch in Mulugu district on Saturday (August 16, 2026).
According to Tadwai police, a lorry collided with the car in which Surekha was travelling in and the impact severely damaged the vehicle. Surekha and another person, Chinta Vijayababu from Warangal — who was driving the car – died on the spot.
Surekha’s death comes amid a series of tragedies in her family. Her 15-year-old son, Sukrith, died in a road accident two years ago. Her husband, Kiran, died of illness four months ago.
Surekha had earlier served as an Agricultural Market Officer in Mahabubabad district. Colleagues recalled her as a dedicated officer. Officials and staff of the Agriculture and Marketing departments expressed grief over her sudden death.
