According to Union Minister of State for Communications Pemmasani Chandrashekhar, now a person having a savings account of any scheduled bank can be eligible for RPLI. In such a situation, people between the age of 18 to 43 years can choose the option of Rural Postal Life Insurance and in this, insurance up to Rs 10 lakh can be taken.

With this decision, people moving from rural areas to cities will find it easier to pay premiums. Not only this, but the problems arising due to changing bank account to continue the policy will also be reduced to a great extent.

According to the government, digital or bank related documents can be used to prove eligibility for RPLI.
