Paralakhemundi:At 3 pm on 1st August,one M. Surya Rao (54)of Sailada under Gurandi police limits of Gajapati district complained at Paralakhemundi Model Police Station regarding stolen of 5 lakhs.
At 1.20pm he returned from SBI main branch of Paralakhemundi with withdrawn cash of 5lakhs.He kept the cash in his bag with cheque book & passbook.Meanwhile 4 goons roamed around him with their 2 motor bikes.They tried to distract Surya Rao by throwing currency notes near motorbike.The moment Surya Rao diverted his attention to collect the currencies,no sooner those goons snatched away his bag & escaped from the spot.
After report Paralakhemundi Police started investigation through attached cctv. They informed nearby Police Stations.At 5pm Garabandha Police while patrolling cordoned one bike & taken to custody to 2 persons.Other 2 persons whisked away from that place..
On interrogation they gathered from those accused persons,who came to steal from bank customers borrowed heavy cash by dismantle the customers. Police seized 5 lakhs(sealed bundle currencies)& their motor bike.Those accused persons are Petla Devadasam (40) & Goddeti Salman of Kaparalathipa village under Bitraguntha police limits of Nellore district of Andhrapradesh.More investigation is going on by Paralakhemundi Police.
Surya Rao complimented Paralakhemundi Police staff for their great endeavor.
