A driver who was ejected from a vehicle that struck a tree on Highway 7 north of Perth was transported to hospital with serious injuries, the Ontario Provincial Police reported Saturday.

An Aug. 15 news release from the OPP said officers responded just before 2:20 a.m. to a report that a vehicle had struck a tree on Highway 7 near Drummond Concession 9A in the municipality of Drummond/North Elmsley.
Highway 7 was closed for several hours between Drummond Concession 9A and Gardiner Road for the investigation of the crash, but reopened later on Saturday, the OPP said.
Drummond/North Elmsley is about 80 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.
