A domestic dispute between a couple in Bengaluru turned fatal after the husband allegedly attacked his wife during an argument. The woman, identified as Padmavathi, died following the incident, while her husband, Sumant Jain, later died by suicide. The incident took place on Wednesday night, and the Rajagopal Nagar Police are investigating the case.
According to preliminary information, an argument between the couple escalated inside their home. Sumant, a civil engineer, allegedly hit Padmavathi, a software engineer, during the dispute. She reportedly suffered a severe blow and later became unresponsive. Sumant allegedly realised that she was no longer breathing. The exact cause of Padmavathiās death is yet to be established, police said.
After allegedly finding his wife unresponsive, Sumant reportedly called his mother and informed her about what had happened. He later sent her a message before taking the extreme step.
His mother reportedly saw the message after some time and contacted the house owner. When the house was checked, Sumant was found dead inside the house. Police were subsequently informed, following which Rajagopal Nagar Police reached the spot and began their investigation.
The incident has raised questions about what happened inside the coupleās home and the events that followed the domestic dispute. Police are examining the available information and questioning people connected to the case.
