Perez Hilton Treated for Overdose After Self-Harm Livestream

When first responders arrived at Perez Hilton’s house following his Aug. 4 livestream, during which he engaged in self-harm, a fire rescue team also treated him for an overdose, per a police report.

Perez Hilton was treated for more than just his physical injuries after his self-harm incident.

After the celebrity blogger engaged in self-harm during an Aug. 4 livestream, prompting police to be dispatched to his Miami home, first responders treated him for a drug overdose in addition to his injuries before he was transported to the hospital, according to a Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office incident report obtained by People.

Hilton’s sister Barbara Lavandeira told police that, before they arrived, she had seen her brother naked and “covered in blood” in his bathroom, prompting her to take his three kids—whose ages range from 8 to 13—to her car to get them out of the house, according to the report.

However, before they could leave the house, she said her brother (real name Mario Lavandeira Jr.) approached the car naked and bloody and began “banging on the vehicle’s driver window,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Later, after some of Hilton’s family members and several officers entered the home, they brought the media personality into the living room and a fire rescue team “began treatment on scene for multiple lacerations and an overdose,” per the report.

E! News has reached out to reps for Hilton and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Department for comment but has not yet heard back.

Since Hilton was admitted to the hospital Aug. 4, his family shared that his condition “remains serious but stable,” though he will need to undergo multiple procedures.

“He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days,” the Lavandeira family wrote on Hilton’s website Aug. 8. “His treatment and recovery will be a long process. We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.”

As Hilton remains in the hospital under Florida’s Baker Act—which allows authorities to temporarily hold an individual for evaluation if they believe the person could pose a danger to themself or others—his mom Teresita Lavandeira has filed for temporary custody of his kids.

“My main concern and objective, as well as the family’s, is to protect the children and make sure they are safe,” an attorney for Hilton told People Aug. 12. “We want them to have some sense of normalcy as they begin their journey of healing after the tragic events that occurred last week."
