Srinagar, Aug 14: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has issued fresh guidelines to streamline the filing, scrutiny and listing of cases, directing that petitions, appeals and applications filed up to noon on a working day, after being found complete, be listed on the next working day through the supplementary cause list.
The Registry will use the period between noon and 2 pm for scrutiny, examination and registration of cases received before noon, while matters filed after 2 pm will be listed on the day following the next working day after scrutiny and removal of defects.
The court has also directed officials in the institution and digitisation sections to ensure that all files received during the day are scrutinised and scanned without carrying any backlog to the next day.
Bench Secretaries have been instructed to entertain urgency memos only after the concerned petition or appeal has been assigned a registration number.
