Srinagar, August 14 : Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, on Friday visited rural areas of Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts to assess the prevailing security situation and review the preparedness of the security apparatus.

During the visit, the DGP conducted a detailed review of the ground-level security grid and took stock of deployment arrangements, operational preparedness and coordination mechanisms in the three districts.

Officers posted in the respective areas briefed the DGP on the prevailing security environment, security deployments and measures being undertaken to maintain peace and stability across the rural belts of South Kashmir.

The visit also focused on strengthening coordination among various security agencies and ensuring that the security apparatus remains alert and capable of responding promptly to emerging challenges.

DGP Nalin Prabhat stressed the importance of maintaining constant vigilance, operational readiness and effective coordination at the grassroots level. He also reviewed measures being implemented by the police and security forces to ensure the safety and security of the people.

Senior police officers accompanying the DGP interacted with field formations and reviewed the implementation of security measures in their respective jurisdictions.

The field-level assessment assumes significance amid the need for continuous monitoring of security arrangements in rural and vulnerable areas of South Kashmir. The police leadership reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, security and public safety across Jammu and Kashmir.
