Last night ITV unveiled the new eye logo for Big Brother 2026, and it’s giving reality TV fans something they’ve not felt in a long time: hope.

The eye, which at first glance appears to be a simple photo of a human eye with a purple iris but, on closer examination, is a collage made up of various people’s peepers, has impressed a fair few fans since it was revealed.

On X, @gtothet123 joked: ‘Whattttt it actually looks good this year!!!!??!?!?’ while another said it was the ‘best eye ITV had ever made’.

Others, however, noted that the new Big Brother eye looked very similar to the poster for one of the greatest movies ever.

Specifically, they think it looks an awful lot like The Truman Show poster, which used a similar collage style.

The Truman Show would be an apt film for Big Brother to draw inspiration from, considering it’s about a man – played by the always watchable Jim Carrey – whose entire life is being broadcast to the world as a TV Show.

In fact, a number of people have described The Truman Show as one of the most prophetic movies ever made.

Writer Anthony Frajman noted that the film ‘foretold the rise of reality TV, mass surveillance, social media, influencer marketing and our increasing obsession with celebrity.’

Still, before you start accusing Big Brother of copying The Truman Show’s homework, it is worth noting that both the film and the once popular reality show both debuted in 1998.

ITV is promising that this new series of Big Brother will be the biggest yet.

According to a press release across the extended eight-week run, ‘viewers can expect ambitious tasks, high-stakes nominations and dramatic live evictions as the housemates face challenges at every turn in their bid to outlast their rivals.’

They’ve also revealed that AJ Odudu and Will Best are back hosting.

Anyway, Big Brother fans are very excited by this new eye, and they’ve been sharing their thoughts on Reddit.

Euphoric-Pop3449 noted: ‘First time they’ve used a human eye on a civilian Big Brother since series 1.

‘Perhaps a hint they have taken casting seriously and have regular people? Either way, definitely says “we are doing things differently this year.”’
