Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Barcelona for Ferran Torres, in a transfer that could have implications for Bradley Barcola’s future.
It has been widely reported there is an agreement in principle between the two clubs for £42.75million and there is hope the transfer can be completed by the weekend.
PSG have moved for the Spain World Cup winger despite, this summer, adding Maghnes Akliouche to a forward line that already includes Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Barcola.
Furthermore, Luis Enrique’s side have, according to De Telegraaf, raised their bid for Ajax winger Mika Godts to well above €50m (£42.7m).
With PSG, who successfully retained the UEFA Super Cup by beating Aston Villa on Wednesday, closing in on the signings of two attackers for a combined fee of £85.4m, it does raise questions about Barcola’s future.
The France international has reportedly turned down the offer of a new PSG contract in hope of moving on as he looks to boost his minutes next season.
Having initially ruled out the sale of Barcola this summer, PSG are now open to offers for the 23-year-old and have even held preliminary talks with Liverpool.
However, Sky Sports have stated that there is a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs as PSG are standing firm over their £145m asking price, which is making a deal difficult to complete on the Reds’ side
Arsenal, meanwhile, are said to hold an interest in the Frenchman after missing out on the signing of Vinicius Junior as he chose to commit his future to Real Madrid by signing a new contract.
