Chelsea Freeman, the wife of Los Angeles Dodgers' Freddie Freeman, detailed her recent visit to the hospital after experiencing "really sharp, intense chest and back pain" in the middle of the night.

That's why the wife of Los Angeles Dodgers' Freddie Freeman said she recently called 911 when she "woke up in the middle of the night with really sharp, intense chest and back pain."
"Thought I was having a heart attack," Chelsea wrote on her Instagram Story Aug. 11. "It was honestly really scary, especially because Freddie was on the road."
The 35-year-old recounted how her troponin levels—a group of proteins released into the blood when the heart muscle is stressed—were elevated upon her arrival at the hospital, so she underwent "a heart CT, chest X-rays and an echo."
While Chelsea was ultimately discharged, she said a cardiologist told her in a follow-up appointment that "it may have been pericarditis or myocarditis." (Pericarditis is the swelling of tissues surrounding the heart, while myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle, according to the Mayo Clinic.)
"He’s having me do another echo next week to follow up," she added. "Thankfully I’m feeling much better now."
Chelsea—who shares kids Frederick, 9, Brandon, 5, Maximus, 5, and London, 3 months, with her husband—first spoke about her medical emergency on Aug. 6, describing it as "a little health scare."Â
“But thankfully I’m home and doing OK," she wrote on Instagram Stories. "So grateful for the amazing EMTs, nurses, and doctors who took care of me.”
The former realtor did not go into detail about her condition at the time, though she shared a photo of her arm hooked to an IV.
“A good reminder that health really is everything,” she continued. "If something feels off, getting it checked out is always the right choice."
