It was reported just last week that Annabelle Wallis and Sebastian Stan are now parents. The pregnancy was pretty low-key, just like the baby’s arrival, at least in terms of publicity. They were papped in April and then they were together in Cannes a month later. And then a few days ago TMZ reported that Annabelle had given birth with no other details. And you know they’re always digging through court documents etc so Annabelle and Sebastian have been able to keep their family business their own business. Will be interesting to see how they manage it over the next few months because both will be outside a lot promoting their various projects.
For Sebastian, he’ll be very visible with Fjord, Cristian Mungiu’s film that won the Palme d’Or and will also be heading to TIFF before it opens in October. Fjord is Neon’s SEVENTH Palme d’Or winner in a row, hoping to join its predecessor’s with a subsequent Oscar run. This is extra special for Sebastian given his Romanian background, working with a Romanian filmmaker, playing a Romanian character. While Neon will definitely be campaigning Fjord during award season, Sebastian will also be part of whatever massive Avengers: Doomsday press tour that will happen in the fall ahead of the holiday box office. Like I said, very visible, many media opportunities, and I’m sure he and his people will be putting out the notice about personal questions but the curiosity will definitely be there.
As for Annabelle, she’s meeting the curiosity even sooner because she’s back at work now to promote two back-to-back movies. First up is Mutiny, starring Jason Statham. You know the expression, one of the heart and one for the bank account? This one is for the bank account. It’s a Jason Statham movie, which means totally stupid but somehow still kinda fun? Watch the trailer for this and tell me if it makes any sense. I have no idea what is happening, why he’s so mad, why he’s hijacking a boat, and what Muhammad Ali has to do with it… LOL FOREVER.
There’s an audience for this though, otherwise he wouldn’t keep playing the same character over and over.
After Mutiny, Annabelle’s next film is Unabomber, premiering on Netflix September 25, starring Jacob Tremblay as a young Ted Kaczynski alongside Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley. No trailer yet but they released some stills from the movie a couple of weeks ago and… I can’t believe Jacob is 19 years old now, it’s f-cking me up.
Here’s Annabelle in New York yesterday doing interviews for Mutiny. She always has the most perfect beachy waves.
