A 25-year-old bus driver who was shot dead outside a pub in south London has been named by police.
The attack occurred on Monday evening, when gunshots were heard near the venue in Willington Road, Clapham.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Metropolitan Police have now named the victim as 25-year-old Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa.
Shortly after the shooting, a 22-year-old man attended hospital with a gunshot wound and was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the force. He remains in hospital under police guard.
Detective chief inspector Claire Guiver, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Bile-aka’s family as they come to terms with this tragic incident.
“We continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
“If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist our investigation, we urge you to get in touch.
“Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.”
Speaking near the scene, a friend of the victim described him as a “cool guy”, adding that he believed the death was the result of “wrong place, wrong time”.
He said: “I don’t have bad things to say about him. He’s a cool guy, like I said, bus driver, hard-working. It’s shocking because of who he is and his character.”
Police remained at the scene on Tuesday, with a cordon in place near The Landor pub, at the junction of Willington Road and Landor Road.
Several bouquets of flowers were laid and a candle was lit near its entrance.
A 26-year-old woman living nearby said she heard four gunshots and initially thought it was the sound of a car backfiring.
