OK, a lot has been said about this Vogue cover (Lainey touched on it in What Else?) so let’s get into it. It’s Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere (yes, their parents were married) and yes, it’s aesthetically dull. Chloe Malle is being blamed but let’s not pretend Anna Wintour knocked it out of the park every month.
There are a few things to consider here: why is the September issue in a studio and not on location? That would have completely changed the vibe. The Shards is set in LA, there’s a million places they could have shot. Second, why is a Ryan Murphy show enough to garner a Vogue cover? That’s a real prestige dip.
Yesterday I wondered why Brad Pitt would volunteer that he is off the wagon. Today, Page Six ran a story about him drinking at the TNT wedding last month. So, did Page Six have this info and hold off as a favour to Pitt’s team? Or did Page Six follow up on the story after the Esquire headlines? I don’t know but I am quite sure Brad Pitt’s “candid” revelation about his drinking was well-timed.
Earlier this summer, Michael Jordan was hanging out with the Beckhams and now he’s with soccer star Erling Haaland. As one commenter said, they make each other’s height look normal.

Yesteryear is a smash hit (it has sold one million copies – that is insane!) and the cause of raging debates online. Some people hate it, some people say it’s satire, some people say it’s internally inconsistent. I don’t have an opinion because I haven’t read it, but people are really fighting over this book. Rachel Syme at the New Yorker interviewed author Caro Claire Burke about what it’s like to have your first book turn into a massive success and a comment section battle. Anne Hathaway is attached to the film rights but that process isn’t always clean cut, there are books that languish in development forever (and never get made, like The Secret History). I do think if anyone can get this from page to screen, it’s Anne. Her projects move.
