So Romantic, the studio behind Jack Move, is getting ready to bring its quirky pinball roguelite Pin-Crawl to players with a special demo launching on Steam on August 14. The demo will be available for both PC and Mac, arriving just ahead of Steam’s Pins & Pegs Fest.
Pin-Crawl puts a playful spin on the dungeon-crawling roguelite genre, combining traditional exploration and combat with pinball-inspired gameplay. Players take control of Morgan, a witch, alongside her round and slimy companion Smush, as they set out to defeat an evil sorceress and rescue their village friends from a mysterious spell.
The demo features the game’s first biome, giving players a chance to battle through a dungeon packed with strange enemies, including Bomblin, The Fingerer, and Thornet. The journey eventually leads to a showdown against the area’s boss, Magicus Mischievous.
Along the way, players can experiment with different upgrades to strengthen Morgan’s Dash and Magic Shot abilities, unlock new spells and improve her overall stats. Smush also plays an important role, allowing players to quickly move around the pinball-inspired tables using his Dash ability.
Pin-Crawl also features handcrafted pinball tables filled with colorful pixel art, treasure-filled runs and plenty of unusual enemies to keep things interesting.
With its mix of pinball action, dungeon crawling and roguelite progression, Pin-Crawl looks like a fun one to keep an eye on when its demo arrives this week.
