Crimson Herring Studios, in partnership with Zugalu Entertainment, has announced Isles of Innsmouth, a minimalist Lovecraftian strategy game that blends city-building with a strange and atmospheric dose of cosmic horror. The game is currently scheduled to arrive on PC in Q3 2027.

Rather than overwhelming players with complicated economies and resource management, Isles of Innsmouth keeps its city-building mechanics simple. Players will place buildings from available cards, expand their settlements, and discover useful synergies between different structures to increase their scores. As they progress, they can unlock new islands and additional cards, allowing their settlements to grow even further.

The game features more than 60 different structures, each offering new possibilities for creative layouts and scoring combinations. Its procedurally generated islands also ensure that every playthrough feels different, with unique island placements and deck orders. Players can even share seeds with friends and compete for the highest scores.

For those who would rather build without worrying about points, Isles of Innsmouth includes a Creative Sandbox Mode. This mode lets players simply enjoy the game’s cozy-horror atmosphere and create settlements at their own pace.

A dedicated Photo Mode will also allow players to adjust the camera, lighting, and weather effects to capture their creations. Complementing the visuals is an original gloomy ambient soundtrack designed to keep players immersed.

With its unusual mix of relaxing city-building and Lovecraftian horror, Isles of Innsmouth could offer a refreshing take on the genre when it arrives in 2027.
