Battlefield 6 Wake Island trailer is here, and while the return of Wake Island has already been officially announced, the new trailer allows fans to better discern how the map will play. It shows infantry engagements, tank-oriented defence strategies, and warfare taking place on the water, giving players a clearer sense of the multiple ways they can approach the map.
The new gameplay footage in the trailer places infantry combat at the very heart of the Wake Island launch. Players can be seen fighting across the island while implementing different strategies to attack or defend key positions.
Tanks also play a major role in the defence of this game and during broader warfare moments. The trailer illustrates how players can utilise armoured vehicles to strengthen their defensive positions and support their teammates.
This combination of infantry and vehicle combat shows Battlefield 6’s focus on large-scale conflicts, where the main task of players is to respond to and defeat threats from multiple directions.
The standout addition highlighted in the trailer is combat on the water. Players won’t be restricted to fighting only on Wake Island itself, as war-ready ships extend the action and fight around the coastline.
This builds on the Naval Warfare features introduced in the fourth season of the series. As covered in our previous articles, this season has expanded Battlefield 6’s combined-arms gameplay by bringing navy-suitable vehicles into warfare alongside infantry, tanks, aircraft, and helicopters.
Wake Island takes this idea even further by making the surrounding water a consequential component of the gameplay. Players will now have to account for support and attacks coming from both land and sea, raising the need for tight teamwork.
Furthermore, the map features an aircraft carrier, adding an extra major location to the battlefield and strengthening its connection to aerial and naval combat.
Another major part of the upcoming content is a Top Gun-themed event. Players will be able to unlock exclusive incentives and rewards by completing event challenges.
The event fits with the focus on aerial warfare, which is being extended throughout Season 4. Along with the new naval combat shown in the Wake Island trailer, the Top Gun content gives players another way to experience Battlefield 6’s large-scale warfare.
This event has not yet arrived and will most likely coincide with Wake Island’s launch on August 18, 2026, giving fans more challenges to complete alongside the map’s release.
Wake Island is scheduled to launch on August 18, 2026, as part of Battlefield 6 Season 4. The map is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Wake Island follows the Season 4 content that introduced naval warfare and the Tsuru Reef map, and is expected to build on those existing systems with a battlefield where combat on land and sea is closely intertwined.
