Minister for Labour and Employment G. Vivek Venkataswamy and Peddapalli MP G. Vamsi Krishna have urged Union Minister for Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy to establish a PM-SETU ITI cluster in the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency.
The duo met the Union Minister in New Delhi on Tuesday and highlighted the need for a dedicated PM-SETU ITI cluster in the Peddapalli region through the NMDC. Noting that Telangana is a frontrunner in the PM-SETU programme, they urged early sanction of the project.
Mr. Vivek and MP Vamsi Krishna explained that Peddapalli, being an industrial and mining belt, requires skill training for local youth that is aligned with industry needs.
They proposed developing specialised ITI courses in mining, metals, engineering, electrical, and mechanical fields and also suggested adopting a cluster approach by designating one government ITI as the PM-SETU hub and others as spokes.
