Liverpool have moved a significant step closer to landing Bradley Barcola, with the France international understood to have agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions. The broad outline of the player side now appears in place, leaving the clubs to find a route through a more complicated situation in Paris.
According to Sacha Tavolieri via InstantFoot, "He agreed with the Reds on a 5-year contract." The same report explains that PSG are delaying matters while they work on a separate move for Mika Godts, a deal that seems to be influencing the timing of any Barcola departure.
That detail matters. PSG have already strengthened with Maghnes Akliouche and are also thought to be advancing on Ferran Torres. In that context, Barcola increasingly looks like a player who could be sacrificed once the French champions have completed enough of their own attacking reshuffle. Liverpool's interest, therefore, appears well-timed, even if the process is not yet straightforward.
There is a growing sense that this is less about whether Liverpool want the player and more about when PSG are ready to let him go.
