A new Art d'Ecco era has arrived in likely fashion — with a seven-minute single that acts as a mission statement for the rest of his upcoming album.
The follow-up to last year's Serene Demon, Scheele's Green is out October 23 via Paper Bag Records, led by the aforementioned track "The Death of Indie." This absolute doozy has d'Ecco indulge his post-punk afflictions the most he ever has, starting with some James Murphy-esque speak-singing and culminating with a cyclical riff that gets drowned out by horns.
It's a huge "fuck you" to big tech without ever getting too on the nose, and not at all what you'd expect from its title. Watch the music video for "The Death of Indie" and see the tracklisting for Scheele's Green below.
