A 39-year-old man died in hospital after his motorcycle collided with a utility pole along Riverside Drive East on Saturday morning.

Windsor police were called to the scene shortly after 3:30 a.m. and shut down the street from Buckingham Road to Thompson Boulevard.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the man lost control of his motorcycle after travelling at a high rate of speed. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and passed away later that day.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward with any information or video footage of the incident by contacting the Windsor Police Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 7032.
