Adam Vinatieri has revealed that he wore a tie belonging to late Colts owner Jim Irsay when he gave his viral Hall of Fame induction speech that morphed into a roast of his former teammates and coaches.

The four-time Super Bowl champion and the NFL's all-time leading points scorer was officially enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday alongside Larry Fitzgerald, Roger Craig, Luke Kuechly and Drew Brees.

And in a poignant twist, the legendary kicker told ESPN that he made a late outfit change after being given the tie by Irsay's daughters, including current Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon. Vinatieri ended his career in Indianapolis and helped the Colts win Super Bowl XLI.

Irsay, meanwhile, served as owner from 1997 to his death aged 65 in May. Over the years, he was open about his crippling addiction problems, admitting to going to rehab on multiple occasions for alcoholism and painkiller addiction, and in January, it was revealed that the FBI is investigating Irsay's death.

On Saturday in Canton, former running back Craig used his induction speech to reveal that he has been diagnosed with vascular dementia. Vinatieri, on the other hand, took the chance to roast those he shared fields and sidelines with.

The kicker took aim at his former Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, and Jordon Hudson

Among those targeted by the former New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts kicker was Bill Belichick, with Vinatieri mocking his relationship with 25-year-old Jordon Hudson.

'Unfortunately, Bill couldn't make it here today,' Vinatieri said.

'There's a lot going on at UNC right now,' he added, just days after UNC football general manager Michael Lombardi was placed on administrative leave following a human resources complaint.

'He might be on a recruiting trip right now looking for the next Lawrence Taylor. I thought it was because training camp had already started.

'But in truth, it's because he's judging his girlfriend's cheerleading competition.'
