Takeaway of the DayThere was a morning drizzle with cloudy skies today, with clouds lined up at the coast and sunshine elsewhere. It is mild to muggy this morning, with a much warmer afternoon ahead. Highs will be 10 to 15 degrees above average.
There is a HEAT ADVISORY from 10 a.m. today through 10 p.m. Sunday.
Highs will be in the mid-90s, with some spots reaching 105 in the hottest interior spots. Lows will be in the mid-60s to low 80s, especially in the higher elevations. There is critical fire weather in the higher terrain.
It will be breezy along the coast, with temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Coastal fog returns late tonight for limited heat relief.
There is a COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY until 2 a.m. Thursday at the bayshore along San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay and Monterey Bay. Expect a chance of flooding in lots, parks and roads, with isolated closures.
A Look AheadSunday will be the warmest day of the weekend. A cooling trend begins Monday.
Temperatures will be below average late next week as troughing develops off the west coast.
