Last night, Spencer Arrighetti made a rehab start in the AAA. The problem is that he left that start in the third inning.
And no, it wasn't planned: he left because he got injured.
We were wondering if the injury was to his foot, considering that's the injury he was recovering from. And John Schneider confirmed this afternoon that it was indeed the case.
Arrighetti felt pain in his foot and is heading to Philadelphia for an MRI.
The team is currently hoping this will only mean a short break and not a long absence.
Spencer Arrighetti left last night's game with more foot symptoms. He's coming to Philly to get an MRI with the #BlueJays.
They hope it's just a short break from throwing.

That said, this isn't the worst update Schneider provided today. The manager also discussed the case of Yimi Garcia, who seemed poised to return to action before the trade deadline before re-injuring himself.
And the worst-case scenario was confirmed today: Garcia is dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome.
The result? Unless a miracle happens, his season is over… and one has to wonder what this means for the rest of his career, given that he'll turn 36 in about ten days.
Yimi Garcia has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome, said John Schneider. He's still deciding on his next steps, but his season is all but officially over.

The Blue Jays did, however, have some good news to share regarding the team's injured players: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is feeling better. His hamstring is hurting less, and he could be available off the bench today.
And as things stand, he's expected to be in the starting lineup tomorrow.
