A business owner says his turnover was badly affected by the Metronet works in East Victoria Park.
Joe Mahon says he wants compensation for the disruption caused by road closures, parking difficulties and detours in 2024 and 2025.
Mr Mahon's claim for compensation has been denied, but he plans to keep fighting.
A Perth business owner says years of railway construction work have cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Joe Mahon says the removal of the Oats Street Metronet level crossing and subsequent works to elevate the rail line and build a new train station have caused road closures and parking issues that have seriously affected his bottom line.
He told 102.5 ABC Perth he did not object to the public transport upgrades at East Victoria Park from late 2023 to mid-2025, but has asked the Public Transport Authority (PTA) for compensation.
The corner of Bank Street and Forward Street was chosen as the location for Reid's Remotes because of the visibility from the street, customer parking and ease of access.
When Oats Street was subject to closure, it forced prospective customers to access more complicated detours that were subject to frequent change.
"At the start it was gradual because it was issues like their workers taking up all the parking onsite so our customers couldn't actually park," Mr Mahon said.
"Then, once they introduced a road closure, it was like falling off the edge of a cliff. Basically, people couldn't access us.
"The one street that they were supposed to access us through, Forward Street, was full of trucks and cranes and concrete trucks. We even struggled to get there ourselves just to get to work."

Mr Mahon said the sometimes roads were closed during certain times of the day and online maps and GPS services could not keep up.
"Customers would actually give up in frustration and just cancel their booking," he said.
